Work Rate

Michael has ignited a debate about the work rate of Europe vs. Silicon Valley. I tend to agree with Michael – the success rate in the Valley has plenty to do with the work rate. This isn’t just about output… it’s about mastery.

I’m also in agreement with the comments over here that Japan also has a stunning work rate.

Looking at both Japan and Silicon Valley, start-ups in NZ and Europe could learn lots. Work rate matters – in terms of momentum, mastery and massive outcomes.

As a French man who also left France many years ago, I will add that it is about output and mastery, but also about attitude. The French audience may have jeered Michael’s comments, but that’s because he was hitting too close to home. Every one I speak to in France is keenly aware of the pervasive cynicism and negativity toward success, effort, etc…
Innovation is great, but without the right amount of perspiration and ambition it likely will lead nowhere.

because that shows action and you can rely on the trend and the praettns much more with higher than normal volume. A fire hose will have more momentum than a garden hose to use an analogy.
